militantisme beschreibt im Französischen eine Form von politischem Aktivismus, bei der Menschen entschlossen und ungeachtet der eigenen körperlichen Unversehrtheit für eine politische Überzeugung oder Ideologie kämpfen.

In Deutschland gibt es seit den 60er-Jahren eine Geschichte linken militanten Widerstands gegen faschistische Bewegungen innerhalb der Gesellschaft und gegen die Polizei als ausführendes Instrument staatlicher Herrschaft. Im Rahmen zivilen Ungehorsams, wie unangemeldeter Demonstrationen, gezielten Angriffen auf Polizist/-innen und Sachbeschädigung, wird bewusst die Grenze der gesellschaftlich akzeptierten Formen des politischen Protests überschritten, um direkt die bestehenden Herrschaftsverhältnisse anzugreifen. Trotz breit geführter Diskussionen und Kritik aus der gesellschaftlichen Mitte zu der Legitimität und Wirkung solch einer militanten Form von Aktivismus, greifen bis heute einzelne linksradikale Aktivist/-innen und Gruppen in Deutschland darauf zurück.

Das Fotoprojekt militante aktion dokumentiert die Spuren der praktizierten Militanz sowohl auf Seite der Aktivist/-innen als auch auf der Seite ihres Gegenübers. Die ausgewählten Bilder sind seit 2015 im Rahmen von Blockaden, Demonstrationen und Protesten von linksradikalen Gruppen in Deutschland entstanden.

In Germany there has been a history of left-wing militant resistance to fascist movements within society and to the police as an instrument of state rule since the 1960s. In the context of civil disobedience such as unannounced demonstrations, targeted attacks on police officers and property damage, the limit of socially accepted forms of political protest is deliberately exceeded in order to directly attack the existing rule of law. Despite widespread discussions and criticism from the center of society about the legitimacy and impact of such a militant form of activism, some left-wing radical activists and groups still use it in Germany to this day.

The photo project militant action documents the traces of the practiced militancy both on the side of the activists and on the side of their counterpart. The selected images have been created since 2015 as part of blockades, demonstrations and protests by radical left-wing groups in Germany.
